Nenad Stankov, aka De Vibroluxe, likes to give himself a hard time. He’s the kind of musician who is constantly developing and working on his own original style. Influenced by jazz, funk, disco, punk, new wave and hard rock, his debut album ‘Craq Magic International’ merges disco, funk and latin, neatly fitting under the heading of Groove. Exposure to this kind of musical socialization is bound to leave its mark on a musician’s output, especially on one who is always looking for new sources of inspiration.
With the skill of a gourmet (connoisseur), Nenad Stankov delicately balances a diversity of ingredients into a harmonious whole that constitutes the De Vibroluxe sound. The pieces are definitely danceable, but not your average 4-to-the-floor tracks, since the music should also work at home and with every listening offer something new: a sound, a chord, a sample, a bridge, things you might not have noticed in the club.
‚Craq Magic International’ rotates emotionally around black music, around the feeling that you find in all styles of that genre: ‘Black music is basically my main influence and interests me the most, latin styles especially. I began working with electronic music quite late, while I was studying classical music. My first attempts at music were as a guitar player in local blues, rock, punk and new wave bands in Novi Sad’
Recorded in Vienna, Santorini and Novi Sad, ‘Craq Magic International’ shows that it’s still possible to create an individual sound, where a musician can toss his favorite elements from his favorite styles into a blender and experiment. Enjoy. |
