FLYING PICKETS are the leading
acappella group in Europe today.
Their dynamic stage show and innovative
albums have made them the masters
in their field.
The group formed in 1982, and
in little more than a year, their
very first single, a version of
the Yazoo song “Only You”
reached number 1 in England at
Christmas 1983, and stayed there
for 5 weeks, and went to number
1 in almost every country throughout
Europe.
The group thrives on it’s
vibrant live performance and have
continued to tour extensively
throughout the world for 18 years.
Other projects have been developed
along the way, including “The
Work Show” which comprised
a whole show of songs based on
the working life, which had a
successful 6-week run at London’s
Stratford Theatre Royal in 1990.
The last 4 albums “BLUE
MONEY” (1991), “THE
WARNING” (1994), “POLITICS OF
NEED” (1996) and “VOX
POP” (1998) have all been
very successful throughout Europe.
The line-up is GARY HOWARD, DYLAN
FOSTER, HENRIK WAGER,
ANDY LAYCOCK, ANDREA FIGALLO
GARY HOWARD joined the Pickets
in September 1986. He is a prolific
songwriter and has had songs on
the last 4 Pickets albums. He
is also well known as a solo performer,
and has toured as lead singer
with The Alan Parsons Project.
DYLAN FOSTER is the youngest member
of the Pickets. He was born in
London, but grew up in Australia,
and was a solo singer, with several
successful records in Australia
and the Far East, before returning
to England 3 years ago.
HENRIK WAGER has extensive experience
as a singer. He has sung jazz
at the Jazz Café, opera
at the London Coliseum, and toured
with folk and rock bands.
ANDY LAYCOCK has appeared as actor
and singer in several London West
End theatre shows, and also worked
with the acappella group Ad Nauseaum.
ANDREA FIGALLO is the bass singer. Andrea was in
the Italian acappella group Jazz’n Jam, and
