"Beautiful moments, really. Nice concept... I wish you all the best, a good start in sound culture!"
- Karl Bartos, KRAFTWERK
“...seductive deep, glitchy techno tracks...”
- DJ Mag, Dec 2007
The charismatic DJ and producer-team from Berlin and Buenos Aires is back on track in 2008 after a year-long “study split” on two continents and a university master degree with Karl Bartos [Kraftwerk].
Besides creative chaos, wild parties, sweat on the walls and tears of happiness on the dancefloor for which ROBOSONIC are infamous for, you can expect dance entertainment for junkies and joggers – it’s electronic dance music with attitude!
With their highly acclaimed debut album "Sturm und Drang" [raving reviews in M8, IDJ, 365, De:Bug, Intro etc. and massive international support from tastemaker DJs], released on their own baby label DISKOMAFIA in November 2007, ROBOSONIC show that their intelligent and multidimensional music is equally comfortable in your hifi at home as in clubs, on penthouse parties, alternative festivals, while you are jogging, in the radio, at illegal raves, fashionshows and obscure private parties from Berlin to Milano, Miami, New York and Buenos Aires...
ROBOSONIC perform “alive” [DJ+live mix on computer] or purely as DJs on turntables / FinalSeratoTorqTraktor / CDJs.
The sound they produce is undogmatic: they draw their influences from their bootlegger / mashup past [aka ROBOSONIC THE HEDGEHOG], hip hop, funk and electronica, but also love to produce deeper more thoughtful and experimental techno.
On their own baby label DISKOMAFIA, they released their debut album "Sturm und Drang" in November 2007 on CD & MP3, getting amazing reviews and support from DJs internationally.
The album took about a year to produce, design and write. ROBOSONIC put a lot of creativity and effort into it to make it their very own manifesto on how they perceive electronic dance music, and how they 'package' this music as a cultural product.
Some album tracks also came out as vinyl maxis in 2007 on DISKOMAFIA: "Yasmin" with KOLETZKI & MEINDL [Cocoon / Stil vor Talent] and THE COCONUT WIRELESS [Moonbootique] remixes, as well as "Die Verwandlung" with JESSE ROSE [Frontroom / Made to Play] and CHRISTOPHER JUST [International DJ Gigolo / Kitsune] remixes.
In 2008, you can expect more vinyl maxis with album tracks: watch out for "Kaputt in Hollywood" with DEADSET [Frontroom] and SANTIAGO & BUSHIDO [Potty Mouth Music] remixes in June on DISKOMAFIA.
From May 2008 onwards, ROBOSONIC collaborate with their friends from the BERLIN MITTE INSTITUT [WEB TV show] to host their own monthly BERLIN KREUZBERG INSTITUT radio show, aired on Proton, USA. The B.K.I. will be focussing on DJ mixes and livesets of local and global talent in electronic dance music [confirmed acts for the first shows are RIVA STARR, SANTIAGO & BUSHIDO, DEADSET, STYLE OF EYE ...].
Exciting things coming your way! |
