Walkner.Hintenaus are friends
Uwe Walkner and Frederic Hintenaus from Linz
in Austria . Uwe Walkner began his DJ career
in 1995. In 1997 he began producing with Karl
Mostl. Their first drum'n'bass influenced productions
as Bluish appeared on the Austrian 'Sabotage'
imprint. The Bluish material played on FM 4 caught
the attention of Richard Dorfmeister at G Stone
who approached them to re lea se on the label.
Walkner.Mostl's
first re lea se on G Stone 'Bluish'
established their mark as producers of deep broken
beats. The second EP 'Heaven Or Hell' gathered
praise and fans across Europe, the UK and Australia
. In 2002 they parted from G Stone to further
develop their many production projects and explore
new directions on other labels. Together they
are producing new material and Karl is a guest
music ian for Walkner.Hintenaus.
Uwe DJs and performs
live across Europe at nights including Dub Club,
Boogaloo, Sunday Best and Solways, he can also
be heard regularly on Austria's national FM 4
radio. He has remixed for Tosca, Vienna Scientists,
Trio Electrico, The Waxolutionists and Cornell
Campell. Percussionist and producer Fred was
a guest music ian on the G Stone EPs and also
performs with Aromabar on INFRACom!. The multi-instrumentalist
has played percussion for 23 years collaborating
with numerous Austrian jazz music ians. He is
the main producer for Walkner.Hintenaus with
Uwe, who he has worked with for many years playing
live percussion over his DJ sets.
Guest music ian for Walkner.Hintenaus
is trumpeter Richard Klammer, a member of Trio
Exklusiv on Austrian label Hoanzl. Their self-titled
debut album is a laid-back exploration of the
4 members influences, unified by an irresistible
groove. They have played live at home venues
and have enjoyed high profile invitations including
one to the Montreux Jazz Festival. Also involved
with the project are Peter Pop and Andy Teufelauer.
Peter produces alongside Uwe and Freddie, Andy
masters all their tracks and Peter creates videos
for the project.
There are plans in 2003 for further
live UK shows following a fantastic debut at
fabric in November 2002. As well as re lea sing
on Simple they have completed remixes of Des'ree
and Rhianna for Sony Music and are recording
as Universe 2K on Echo Chamber. |
